With all interests turned to the 130 kick off at White Hart lane the 2s got beat by 5 wickets, with an under strength team again the senior players needed to play a leading role.
A wet overnight pitch meant an hours mopping up for those who could be bothered and we got underway just after 1 in a 45 over contest.
Glenn scored 67 after running Trowie out for a duck, Hodgy got fired off caught behind,Jimmy hit a decent 24 whilst JP ran himself out backing up after jimmy was dropped at mid-off, others found it difficult to get going ......all out 137 in 38 overs ,a below par score when 160+ was on the cards but losing the last 5 wickets for 6 runs proved to be costly.
Woody opened up but with a slow pitch found things tough with the batsmen leaving anything outside off.Hodgy eventually trapped the opener lbw after having an equally good shout turned down earlier in the over and then followed this with the no3 caught at wide mid off. Westhoughton were on top when Hodgy bowled the other opener Harry Morgan they were 36-3 .A stand of 30 ish occurred before Woody struck with an lbw decision with the score at 64 -4 at drinks. Hodgy then had Philip Watling out lbw for 4 with the score at 80 and we thought game on. The 2 Walkden Asian lads then took the game away from Westhoughton finishing 64 & 25 not out reaching the target with 7 overs to spare.

Very disappointing but a few of the lads won a few quid on the footy so ain't all bad
