Runi's charges remain top

Westhoughton faced bogey side Bradshaw without opening bowler Jason Dunning who had started dance classes whilst Woody was.....errrrr dunno,Charlie on his jollies and spin wizard Jamie McAndrew working.
Up stepped Le Sulk Abbass and Golden arm Oli Dixon to take the new ball with Dan Higham released on bail and back in the 1XI.
On a lifeless pitch nothing much troubled the opening pair as everyones best friend Buckers and Elliot Dargan looked to set the foundation for a good score.Buckers hit a few boundaries on his way to 19 before holing out to Seb who ran in from the scorebox to take the catch.
With Abbass nursing a bad back (must be catching!?)he dropped a straighforward chance off Jason Scheepers offspin at short mid-wicket to give Dargan a reprieve.Jimmy B replaced OD and took a wicket first ball where Glenn took a low catch at slip.Jason continued with his 8 ball overs and eventually trapped the batsman in front and at last umpire Alan Greenhalgh raised his finger.No3 Jordan Evans, looking useful, took the score to 100plus before Runi eventually turned to Hodgy who as per usual bamboozled the batsmen with a mixture of full tosses, unplayable deliveries and just generally drivel occasionally getting one to straighten which broke the 50 run partnership trapping Nick Palmer lbw for 19.Sneekers bowled out to be replaced for OD's second spell.Jordan Evans who had reached 39 ,as at St Georges earlier in the season, then hit one to Matt Trow at mid-on who showed what a great circus act he can do juggling the ball before taking the catch at the 3rd attempt only to see that his little pinky had been hurt in the process.Trowie left the field to return comforted with a Big Mac and Full Fat Coke only to explain that he had only got the drink to ice his little pinky !!
It was then left to Hodgy and Oli Dixon to take the remaining wickets as Bradshaw collapsed from 143-5 to 162 allout.

With rain forecast Glenn was in determined mood to have seconds and afters as the Bradshaw buffet was cleaned out.A quick dash to get padded up and with Trowie going through the pain barrier they made short work of the bowling before Glenn mistimed a sweep to square leg,out for 70.Trowie reached his first 50 of the season when the rain came but with Westhoughton on 142-1 well past the 25over target they picked up the 6 point win.
