Pindorias troops march on

Jp skippered the side and the coin landed on a head ...speaky called tail , result we will have a bat.
FCC had given us a real fright last year and should have beaten us there so we were up for the game
Once again we had a blend of youth and experience ( the perfect combination to take the club forward )
Chris & Matt trow opened the batting and got us to above 40 before one kept a bit low on Matt and he was given out LBW
Hodgie came in 3 ... Chris then tried to pull a short ball which bounced a bit on him & top edged to square leg running backwards .jamie mc came in at 4 .They produced a decent partnership which gave us a good grip of the game and eventually Hodgie holed out at wide long on to a good running catch for a well made 57 .
Lancashire latest recruit ben harrison strode out to time middle ...he and Jamie added about 40 before ben chipped one up to mid wicket on a ball that just stopped on him for about 15..
Jp then entered the arena on the back of 2 ducks ...he struggled to time the ball on a typical slow westhoughton wicket but had decided to bat at least 50 balls as he goes on about so much ( hint hint)
Jamie eventually nicked off to a surprised keeper who caught the ball for 40 odd
Kai joined jp fresh from not netting the previous week , these 2 ran well between the wickets young gun Kai struggling to keep up with the bolt like partington.
With time running out Kai chanced his arm and was caught at mid wicket for a hard fought 13.
Jp then chanced his arm hitting 3 consecutive 4s and the somehow managed to play on - get bowled for 42 .jimmy b woody ,Seb and Jason all playing for the team sacrificed their wickets to give us a total of 262 in 50 overs
Seb had the misfortune to get run out off a no ball off the last ball of our innings so jd had to scurry about trying to get his pads on and went in with odd pads odd gloves no box and a helmet that didn't fit and he wasn't facing . Jimmy then blocked the last ball ( honest),
Jason & woody our first team bowling attack opened the bowling and reduced FCC to 16 - 5 highlights being chis throws catch off Jason to the untrained eye he looked to have missed it by a foot but snicko revealed a feather .jp catch at first slip ( it's really hurts without gloves ) Kais catch at square leg . Woodys perfect Yorker and Jason's sheer pace.
Speaky then gave them hope with a Jo's buttler style couple of overs however it couldn't last .
Hodgie then took an absolute screamer at 2 nd slip ( it was even better than my catch nearly )
FCC did put up a bit of resistance however the bowling changes were coming thick and fast ...Hodgie bowled a full over of doubled bounces .. Jimmy cleaned one man up and ben harrison got the last 2 wickets for 0 runs .
The only negatives were 4 dropped catches one by the best fielder in the club ( self appointed ) 1 by the scorer minus his yellow hat and Ed Sherran dropped another .Then finally one by the cricket manager in the gully that went like a rocket and I like him and the bowler believed it to be a bump ball and really just a sensational stop
Seb miller took the catch to win the match and didn't kick it down the road.the wickets were shared round I think woody got 4 jd 3 jb 1 ben 2
Great win thanks to all the lads, Keith and the ground staff , tea ladies and bar staff and spike ( who pulled me out of a hole )
