Second X1 Champions Again

Job Done
Skipper Runi won the toss and elected to field .
We had a really strong team out and when gary finally arrived we had 11
which is something of a novelty against some of the opposition we have played recently .
Danny & Nathan opened the bowling against dave Tatt & A.N other ,they had a decent start all their runs comming from inside edges . Nathan removed A.N other with a decent Nut which removed his off stump . Danny and Nathan bowled decent spells without much luck .Keeper jp having a very ordinary day behind the stumps ,Twice spilling john dudley who gave difficult chances which on another day may have been caught. Nathan at one stage had all 10 fielders on the off side a testament to the quality of his line and length.( he told me to say that honest )
After a few overs we had a double change Jay Dunning and Simon Alton Ashcroft came on ...JD bowled with good pace and soon removed the experienced Dave Tatt with a magic slower ball ...he ended up ducking to a ball that hit him on the ankle plumb in front of middle stump..
Egerton under 15 squad then came to the wicket and were soon removed by the hostile JD who has tormented juniors all season ( only joking he has done well really for us and his loan period from daisy may be extended ).
Si also chipped in with juniors backing away from him as well !!!!!!
JD figures 6 for 4 ( would have been 3 if jp had caught another difficult chance to his left hand )
59 was the total to get .....to retain the championship the pressure was on.
Matt & Jp opened once again .
Matt was the aggressor hitting 4s all round the wicket and pinching the strike nearly every over . matt eventually getting to a well deserved 50 after hitting consecutive boundarys off lancs ladies starlet boumber. Jp starved of the strike was 9 not out off 16 balls ...we knocked off the runs in 8.3 overs job done ....just in time for the 3 pm kick offs .... Well done to Runi,s squad once again a decent blend of youth and experience . It may be time for some of the old gaurd especially me to make way for some young blood regards jp
