Lancs KO victory

It was one of those days the longer it went on the better the weather.It was brilliant sunshine at the end.
Dukinfield won the toss and asked us to bat
Rob & Dan opened the innings ......rob a little more cautious than dan who cut loose at every opportunity
Rob by his own admission just missed a straight one ..enter the PRO who with his yellow/green underarm which was the only thing he did wrong his entire innings ..(well maybe ask Rocky Edwards)
Dan batted well and played some wonderful shots ..the attack was sometimes brilliant and sometimes well like baseball ( with various beamers and full tosses being bowled )
Dan ( the penny appears to have dropped about batting 50 balls ) went for a well made 43 I think ....bowled, he looked tired and running 2s ,3s and a 4 with Kaiser took its toll

Athy showed a return to his dashing self then nearly ran on to the car park to reach the widest of wides and lumped it straight to extra cover .Newby was bombed again LBW ...Edwards fresh from some " knockout " performances took over the" you've been framed moment " an unfortunate run out with the PRO...he wasn't happy with his corner man and once the steam from his ears had cleared, he was ok .
Charles came in next and played well, batted sensibly not a word used much around Charlie ...he went for around the 20 mark and had a really good partnership with The PRO...
Enter debutant Jordan batting above Aussy dan ...bragging rights to JH ....This lad has been a revelation so far the season and has the most entries on the Charlie honours board ...he ended up 5 or 6 not out a promising start ...the Pro finished 80 odd not out
We finished 192 ( should be enough )
Tea was excellent as always ...usual suspects did the wicket ......The main sponsor and his lad , barty and me pulling the roller and pilky pint in hand supervising ..Mr Houghton senior doing something or other ....job done now it was our turn to field .
Dukinfield dug in and grafted and batted time ..I didn't give them a hope however they gave us a fright ...sorry don't know any names but they put up a decent chase falling about 15 or so short
Notable contributions worth noting ...all our bowlers worked hard ....the ground fielding looked good on a vast area ( maybe need to think about the size of the area we use !!!!!!! ) we don't really want our PRO running 4s do we ??
The catching well that's for Tuesday to sort out ......very unlike us to drop maybe 4 ....2 or 3 between keeper and 1st slip
1 x chance caught , dropped ,caught ,dropped and caught again
We won bottom line ...10/10 to weaker opposition who gave us a decent game / fright
We will be better at the weekend when we entertain Atherton Saturday and 20/20 at Horwich Friday night

All from memory so maybe not 100% accurate but I do my best honest
