Bowl Out Drama in Lancashire Knock Out

Having had their league game called off on Saturday, Westhoughton travelled to Saddleworth for their Lancashire Knock Out tie expecting a bowl out or a coin toss to determine their fate despite optimism from the hosts that there would be some play.
It soon became clear that this would not be possible and the bowl out began at 3.05pm with the rules in place that all 11 players would bowl one ball and the side with the most hits would win. Following the first 11 attempts for each side the score was 0-0 despite Kieran Edwards hitting the stumps, but because it was a full toss it would not count towards the score. Kieran managed to repeat his effort second time round as the feeling of deja vu struck the visitors who were beginning to fear the worst. With the 15th attempt at the stumps, Qaiser Abbas finally hit the stumps and with the Saddleworth player missing his next attempt, victory was assured.
Westhoughton will face Lowerhouse in the next round of the competition.
