The end of the season also sees the end of an era.

With little more than pride to play for on the field, this game against 2013 Champions Little Lever took extra significance as club legend Ian Pilkington played his last game at St George's Oval as he has decided to hang up his boots, as well as Ste Parker - best of wishes to both and thanks for the numerous contributions both have made on and off the field.
Back to the game and it was over as a contest as early as the third ball when the dangerous Kamran Younis was dismissed by Qaiser for 0. Qaiser bounced back from Saturdays disappointment to finish with figures of 5-17 from 13.5 overs, supported by Matt Fanning (2-20 from 7) and Dan Higham (3-19 from 6 overs) as Lever were all out for 56 as they had numerous first team regulars unavailable.
In response, Westhoughton only lost one wicket, that of Atiq Uz-Zaman, another who says farewell to the club - thanks Atiq for your efforts as a coach and then later a player - this meant that Pilky was able to have one last knock (and red inker!) before hanging up his boots. He finished 6 not out as Dan Naylor blasted his way to 40 not out with four 4s and two 6s in only 26 balls.
A third place finish for the lads is a very respectable effort given how strong FSC were as deserved champions.
