Following victory on the Saturday at Greenmount, the home side were in high spirits against Astley Bridge. The mood improved early on as Sean Dunning took a sharp catch at silly point, one ball after being struck on the helmet with a nasty looking impact. Bridge danger man Rick Northrop (47) looked to be relatively comfortable and it was thanks to that man Sean (as well as the batters own partner!) that he was run out. Wickets continued to fall before some late resistance from the lower order helped boost Bridge from 107-7 to 150-7. The last three wickets were taken relatively quickly after reaching that landmark as the visitors finished 163 all out. The wickets were shared round as Qaiser, Kieran, Matt and Dan Reeve all picked up 2 wickets and Dan Higham picking up the other.
In reply, Rob (18) and Pilky (3) were again the unfortunate batters to both be dismissed caught behind, and Atiq (81 not out) continued the fine form that saw him win the Bolton League 'batter of the month' prize for June as he and Qaiser (56 not out) secured a bonus point for the home side with relative ease and seal an 8 wicket victory.
