Westhoughton 1st XI knew they faced an uphill task to try and overcome a side like Bamford Fieldhouse, and unfortunately for the hosts, the excellent NKO run including memorable wins against Northern and Tonge, ended with a wimper.
Batting first, the hosts lost numerous early wickets, 31-7 with many of the first team regulars back in the pavillion. Only Kieran Paisley (19), Matt Fanning (16), Rob Houghton (15) and Dan Higham (11*) made it into double figures as the hosts managed to reach 86 all out, a score that was never going to be enough.
This proved to be correct as Bamford Fieldhouse reached their target without losing a wicket, with Kieran Edwards, Matt Fanning, Rob Brown and Dan Higham unable to find a breakthrough.
Overall, the lads can be proud of the run they put together including three victories, two which will last long in the memory, before losing to the pre-tournament favourites and likely winners.
