Westhoughton vs Eagley 1sts Away

Eagley won the toss and chose to bat first, making steady progress throughout their innings with all their top 6 batters reaching double figures, but only Paul Rayment (46) made any score of note. Wickets fell at regular intervals as Qaiser Abbas (4-62 from 25 overs) and Paul Hart (2-51 from 11 overs) did the majority of the damage. There was a wicket for Kieran Edwards (1-25 from 7 overs), and also two run outs with one for Atiq-Uz-Zaman and one for Sean Dunning.
In reply, Westhoughton struggled as they fell from 81-2 to 95-5 after Atiq fell for 41. Glenn Bullock had also added 20 at the top of the innings, but Rob Houghton (6), Ian Pilkington (3) and Dan Naylor (1) all fell cheaply. It was left to Qaiser (72 not out) and Jason Scheepers (29 not out) to share a partnership of 86 to steer Westhoughton to a valuable 5 wicket victory to keep ahead of the chasing pack.
