Farnworth 1sts Away 2013

Westhoughton headed to Farnworth looking to continue from last weekends league game against Farnworth Social Circle, but unfortunately they picked up where they had left off against Bamford Fieldhouse last sunday. Whilst Atiq Uz-Zaman (24) and Rob Houghton (19) guided the side to 44-0, things soon collapsed around them. With only Rob Brown (12) reaching double figures alongside Atiq and Rob, Westhoughton slumped to 71 all out. The highest partnership after the opening stand of 44 was 8, and that was the final partnership of the innings.
Farnworth lost four wickets in response with Paul Hart (3-38 from 8) and Qaiser Abbas (1-29 from 8.5) doing the best they could with such a low total to defend.
The lads next face Astley Bridge in a T/20 on Tuesday night (11th June), before facing the high-flying duo of Little Lever in the league next Saturday, and table-toppers Bradshaw in the Hamer Cup Quarter Finals. All three of these games will be at St George's Oval.
