Westhoughton vs Norden 1st XI LKO

On a day where rain was expected to interupt the Lancashire Knock Out game between Westhoughton and Norden, both teams agreed to play 30 overs a side to try and allow the best chance for a result to be reached.
Westhoughton lost the toss and were put into bat by the visitors and they made steady progress, reached 39-0 inside 8 overs. However, things soon went downhill drastically as Pro Stephen Murdoch fell for 14 before Ian Pilkington was dismissed for 2. Ste Parker was then forced to retire on 31 with what turned out to be a torn hamstring. After this, Westhoughton fell to 63 all out, with no other batter scoring more than 4 runs.
In response, Norden won by 10 wickets in 10.1 overs, with not many chances being given, although there was one close caught behind appeal that went in favour of Norden's Pro who top scored with 46 not out. Westhoughton will be looking to end this dismal run of form as they visit Little Lever on Saturday.
