Westhoughton 1st team suffered a sixth consecutive defeat in all competitions as they were once again bowled out within their 50 overs.
Having won the toss, Captain Ian Pilkington decided to bat and Westhoughton were going nicely on 23-0, but only 3 overs later they were 26-3 with the top 3 all dismissed. Another wicket fell before Daniel Naylor (19) and top scorer Kieran Paisley (25) started to rebuild the innings. However, Westhoughton had another collapse as they went from 82-4 to 95 all out inside 10 overs.
Rain followed and this reduced Farnworth's required runs to only 76 from 33 overs. Stephen Murdoch struck early on to leave Farnworth 3-1 and then Daniel Reeve struck again as they were 18-2, but Farnworth didn't lose another wicket as they managed to score the required total in just 12.1 overs.
