Farnworth Social Circle vs Westhoughton 1st XI

Westhoughton 1st XI continue on their poor run of form as they suffered another defeat, but once again they could feel that luck was against them. Batting first, they were set nicely on 120-4 with 15 overs left and looking to post 200+ with Mike Entwistle (30) and Arun Pindoria (10) working well together to leave the middle order with a few overs to try and up the run rate. However, Westhoughton lost their last 6 wickets for only 24 runs as they were all out for 144 in 44.4 overs. Pro Stephen Murdoch top scored with 42 before he was caught behind.
In response, Kieran Edwards struck early on for the second day in a row as he dismissed Farnworth Social Circle's dangerous opening batter who had hit three boundaries in no time. Kieran would later have a caught behind appeal not given against FSC's Pro, which on another day may have been given. FSC continued on their way but found themselves struggling on 101-5 as Stephen Murdoch and Nathan Blair both picked up two wickets, added by a couple of great reaction catches from Jon Partington and Kieran Paisley respectively. Westhoughton's players could feel the momentum on their side, but unfortunately for them, it felt like deja vu as FSC's next batter followed in the footsteps of Egerton's Pro and blasted 35* from only 14 balls, with two fours and four sixes.
