Horwich vs Westhoughton 1st XI

Westhoughton 1st XI were looking to continue their good form away at local rivals Horwich when they were inserted to bat by the home side, and Horwich looked to have made the correct decision as Westhoughton were all out for 77 in 32.1 overs. Only Michael Daley (25) and Kieran Paisley (12) offered any real resistant against the Horwich bowlers, and but for 15 extras the total would have been even less.
Some teams would just accept defeat after such a disappointment, but Westhoughton flew out of the traps and Horwich were 37-5. Unfortunately for Westhoughton, Horwich's Pro (Walters) steered his side to victory with an unbeaten 40 as Horwich won by 4 wickets. Paul Hart picked up all 6 wickets for Westhoughton to continue his streak of 5 wickets or more in an innings to three consecutive games. There were plenty of positives to take from the bowling and fielding displays after a lacklustre first half of the game and hopefully the lads will bounce back next week.
