Westhoughton v Little Lever 2nd July 2005

Big Defeat To Little Lever

Westhoughton showed they are still lacking last year's consistency, suffering a 108 run defeat at home to Little Lever. It was a promising start by the home side when they had Lever at 76-5 at one stage, but the lower order somehow got the score up to 203. Paul Hart took 5-57 while Mubarek Patel took 4-47.

In reply it all went horribly wrong for Westhoughton with wickets tumbling at regular intervals and their only score of any note coming once again from Pro Antonio Mayers (25) while Mark Atherton (17) and Rick Parker (14) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures before being bowled all out for just 95.
