Heaton v Westhoughton 3rd July 2005

Great Bowling Performance In Victory At Heaton

Mubarek Patel was the star of the show on Sunday as Westhoughton recovered from their defeat to Little Lever by crushing Heaton at Lower Pools. The home side suffered another heavy defeat following their 201 run loss to Tonge the day before. Westhoughton cruising to a nine wicket win in the end. Heaton set Westhoughton a total of just 89. A superb spell of bowling from Patel who took 6-31 was the main reason for this total in which the extras was the top score with 29.

In reply, Steve Parker (41) and Ian Pilkington (29) made light work of the home side's attack running out comfortable winners to at least gain some respectability back after the disappointment the day before.
