Westhoughton
v Egerton - 31st July 2005
Another nail-biter but Westhoughton settle for draw
Westhoughton's hopes of completing a weekend double fell just 10 runs
short in a tense game at home to Egerton. The visitors made 201 with over
half those runs coming from their pro Jadhav (116). Iqbal Patel
was the pick of the Westhoughton bowlers with 4-75.
In reply the home side finished
on 192-8 - Mark Atherton top scoring with 42, ably assisted
by pro Antonio Mayers who scored 34. Robert Houghton, who
made his first team debut the day before against Horwich, also chipped
in, with a useful 26 not out. |
