Another nail-biter but Westhoughton settle for draw

Westhoughton's hopes of completing a weekend double fell just 10 runs short in a tense game at home to Egerton. The visitors made 201 with over half those runs coming from their pro Jadhav (116). Iqbal Patel was the pick of the Westhoughton bowlers with 4-75.

In reply the home side finished on 192-8 - Mark Atherton top scoring with 42, ably assisted by pro Antonio Mayers who scored 34. Robert Houghton,who made his first team debut the day before against Horwich, also chipped in, with a useful 26 not out.
