Egerton v Westhoughton 14th May 2005

Ton up Pilky in great form at Egerton

Ian Pilkington continued in great form on Saturday with a fantastic 123 not out to guide his side past an Egerton total that also included a centurion. The home side batted first and must have thought they'd done enough when their pro Sheeraj Jadhav produced a flawless knock of 158, which was just 8 runs short of equalling the club's record for the highest innings, held by Steve Storey who hit 166 at Farnworth Social Circle in 1993. Jadhav's innings helped Egerton to 275 all out but Westhoughton overcame that total for the loss of 6 wickets. Pilky was well supported by Rick Parker who scored 59 and pro Antonio Mayers didn't disappoint with 57. The latter pair also contributed with the ball, with Mayers taking 4-102 from 21 overs and Rick Parker 3-32 from just 5 overs.
