Pro in fine form and back to winning ways in the cup v Tonge

The Hamer Cup holders went through to the second round after seeing off Tonge for the second time in a month at the Tyldesleys. Westhoughton overhauled Tonge's 202-8 to win by 8 wickets. At one stage, their target looked as if it was going to be alot less as Tonge struggled at 31-5, but opener Nigel Partington carried his bat to score 102 not out. Pro Antonio Mayers was again the pick of the bowlers with 5-88 from 21 overs bowled. The home side's reply was awesome as after losing their first two wickets for 66, pro Antonio Mayers and Ian Pilkington came together to put on an unbeaten partnership of 140 runs. Mayers finished on 98 not out while Pilky got back amongst the runs with an undefeated 61.
