23rd July 2005 - Westhoughton v Greenmount

Bowlers suffer in Greenmount run feast

Greenmount put pressure on leaders Farnworth at the top of the table after a 120 run victory at the Tyldesleys to go second. John Ashworth did most of the damage for the visitors scoring 95, putting Westhoughton under real pressure from the start by sharing in a 133 opening partnership with Andy Kerr (45). Greenmount declared with three overs to go on 313-5. All the Westhoughton bowlers suffered with only A.Pindoria coming out with any credit, especially as he has not been a regular bowler this season. His figures of 3-63 from 10 overs were quite impressive compared to others.

It was always going to be a hard target to chase, especially when the first three batsmen went cheaply. Only Antonio Mayers (66), Adam Coates (58) and Mark Hodgekiss (26) made any sort of contribution before the team were bowled out for 193.
