SOCIAL CLUB NEWS.......

SPORTSMAN'S EVENING WAS ANOTHER GREAT SUCCESS !!

The Sportsmans Evening on Friday 13th April 2007 attracted another sell out crowd to the club. Guest Speakers Norman Whiteside and comedian Charlie Hale kept everybody entertained throughout the evening.

Charlie Hale certainly earned his money. Not only doing his own very entertaining routine, he took over the role as MC for the evening and did a great job raising money for the club as auctioneer.

Ex- Manchester United and Northern Ireland footballer, Norman Whiteside was also in great form with his interesting tales about life inside Old Trafford during his time there, he also told of his surprise call up to the full Northern Ireland squad when just 17 years of age as the youngest international, a record he is still obviously proud of today. He was on his best behaviour throughout the evening as he had wife Denise at his side to enjoy the night with him which is definitely a change from the Norm!!

The club would like to thank Norman and Charlie for their efforts and hopefully we'll be seeing them down at the Tyldesleys again some time. Thanks also to Tony Sharples and Keith Houghton for organising the event and everybody who attended this very enjoyable evening, not to mention a big thanks to people who bought raffle tickets and sporting memorabilia on the night to help raise much needed funds for the club.
